Joining Us
Thinking of coming for the first time? This page will give you an insight of what to expect 🙂
Our most popular gathering on Sunday is our 1030. People tend to arrive from 1020, and the atmosphere is warm and relaxed as people catch up, children play, and the band warm up. All the words you’ll need will be on the screen, but you’ll also be given one of our bulletins by our friendly welcome team. By the way, if you’re coming with littlies, please don’t worry if they make a noise or get wiggly. God put the wiggle in them, and we love it!
We begin with a short prayer, and then we sing for around 20 minutes. After this, the children leave to their groups, and we continue with a time of prayer, before a talk about the Bible which can last between 20-30 minutes. Finally, we have another 20 minutes of singing, and we also offer prayer ministry during this time- if you’d like someone to pray with you, just go up to the front during the singing and they’d love to do so.
After the 1030, we enjoy (good) coffee and biscuits, whilst catching up with each other and chatting with any new people.
We’d love to see you- we’re a friendly family at St T’s, and there’s always room for more.
What to Expect
During the singing, some people might put the hands in the air, or even dance- others might sit down, or read their Bibles. Occasionally you might hear people singing in a different language, (we call that tongues), or someone might speak out a prayer.
On the other hand, some people stand quite still during the singing, and keep their hands firmly by their side. This is also absolutely fine- different people worship in various ways and express themselves differently. Please just come and feel at home!
We’re a friendly bunch- some dress in their best, and others (like the vicar) in their jeans. Some come and don’t stop chatting over coffee afterwards- others sneak in at 1030 on the dot and leave straight after the final song.
Whoever you are-we’d love to see you!
